Collingswood welcomes The Big Chill for the 4th of July - All events will take place on SUNDAY, July 4 (Fireworks rain date July 5)

Fireworks, festivities and the Big Chill
The Big Chill will take the stage as the Borough celebrates America’s independence. The local band is composed of some of the best Musicians and Composers in the Philadelphia region and will entertain the crowd with popular music and play patriotic tunes during the fireworks. Admission is free. Gates open at 6:30; Show starts at 8:00. One of the best Fireworks displays in the area kicks off at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the high school stadium (424 Collings Ave).

Bike Parade in Knight Park – Sunday July 4th @ 12 NOON

The Collingswood Jr. Woman's Club will be holding it's annual 4th of July Bike Parade in Knight Park on July 4th at 12 noon *(Note time change). Children of all ages are welcome to decorate their bikes, strollers, and wagons in patriotic colors. A new category this year will be groups! Prizes will be given to the most creative decorating done by age group.

So decorate those bikes and come parade with pride! Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the gazebo by the Grant Ave. entrance to Knight Park. For more information or to register early, contact Valerie Piper-Auerbach at 856.854.1973. Light rain or shine!

As a special treat, all children participating in the bike parade will receive a free ice cream from Mr. Softee after the parade and will also receive an American Flag courtesy of the American Legion!


Activities at Roberts Pool
Collingswood’s Roberts Pool will host fun and games such as water games, raft races, coin toss, watermelon games and other kids’ activities. Prizes will be awarded for participants. Pool fun starts at 2 p.m.

Proud Neighbors invite you to decorate for July 4th
Small towns tend to think big on the Fourth of July, and Collingswood is no exception! The whole town will be jumping with patriotic parades, parties, and fireworks! And in the midst of all that excitement, Proud Neighbors of Collingswood is inviting you to decorate the entire town red, white and blue as they present their annual Fourth of July house decorating contest!

All Collingswood homes, businesses and town blocks are urged to participate and show off their Stars and Stripes! Decorations are judged on creativity, originality, appropriateness to architecture, best historic home and overall best look. Your name will be publicly credited for your holiday spirit and “Collingswood Cash” is awarded to the contest winner. Official judging will take place on the morning of the Fourth and announced that evening at the Collingswood fireworks show.

So gather up the bunting, start flying the flags, and get ready for the grandest house decorating contest Collingswood has seen yet! You must register in advance, please phone 856-858-7707. To be eligible for prizes your must pre-register your decorated home, neighborhood block or business.

The 4th of July House Decorating Contest is a project of The Proud Neighbors of Collingswood, a not-for-profit civic organization established in 1983. Proud Neighbors of Collingswood is dedicated to restoration, striving to develop awareness of historic preservation and working with volunteers, neighbors, Business & Government to maintain the historic character of our town.
