Grab your biggest buckets of popcorn! Collingswood Cinema Club will present the film The Quiet Man on Friday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic, 1,000 seat Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood. The cinema club is a group of film lovers who enjoy watching classic films on the big screen. Each month through June will feature a different film. Coming to the big screen in Collingswood:

The Collingswood Business Districts, under the direction of Collingswood Partners, Inc., will again host the Annual Collingswood Easter Egg Hunt. This year’s egg hunt will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 10 a.m. in Knight Park. The event will have categories for Collingswood children in the following age groups:  3 & under, 4 & 5 years old and 6, 7 and 8 years old.

Collingswood High School All School Musical presents Little Shop of Horrors on March 13, 14, and 15 at 7 p.m. with a matinee performance on March 15 at 1 p.m.  March 13 is Senior Citizens’ night - free tickets to all senior citizens (60 or over). March 14 is Family night - free admission of one elementary student when accompanied by one paying adult.  Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens (60 & older) and students.

Plan on attending the annual St. Patrick's Day Social at St. John's School, Collingswood. The social will be on Saturday, March 15th from 8 p.m. to midnight. Traditional Irish cuisine will be served along with meatballs and baked ziti. Enjoy a DJ and dancing! Tickets are $20 per person and can be obtained from Steve Rauch by calling 856-854-2912. Tickets purchased in advance are eligible for a chance in a $100 price drawing. Tables can be reserved for groups of 8 or more. All are welcome!

On Sunday March 16, at 7 p.m. the First United Methodist Church of Collingswood will present The Rose of Calvary, the companion piece to The Winter Rose originally presented in December 2006. The Rose of Calvary continues the narrative beyond the manger to portray the life, ministry, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Rose of Sharon. The Sanctuary Choir, additional choir members from other churches, soloists, full symphony orchestra, and handbells will join together for this concert.

Please join the Collingswood Shakespeare Company, Inc. in its inaugural Coffee and Shakespeare Discussion Series. The first series--It's Good to be the King!--focuses on four plays that explore the consequences of the usurpation of power and authority: Macbeth, Richard II, Richard III, and The Tempest. March 30 marks the 4th annual St. Baldrick’s Day fundraising event! The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a national organization that raised more than $12.7 million for pediatric cancer research in 2007 from 402 events held across the country. These funds were raised by men, women and children willing to shave their heads “bald” as a symbol of solidarity to the children who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatments.This year’s goal is to raise $75,000.

  Collingswood Rotary’s Beef and Beer fundraiser will directly benefit the kids of Collingswood! Bring your friends to the Beef & Beer Final Four Fun Night at the Collingswood Community Center on Friday, April 4 from 7 to 11 p.m. In addition to dinner and adult beverages, there will be games, races, contests and a 50-50. All proceeds benefit the construction of the new playground at Knight Park.

House of Clay’s new non-profit therapeutic clay agency, Say it with Clay, will hold its first fund raising event on April 5 from 10 to 5 p.m. The fundraiser, which takes place at House of Clay (644 Atlantic Ave, Collingswood) is a mask making event in which guests create and paint masks out of clay. Creators can then purchase it on the spot or donate it. Donations will be displayed stores on Haddon Avenue for sale throughout the month of May.
