The Borough is sponsoring a program to reduce the waste stream and help handle garbage natrually! Residents can pick up an Earth Machine compost bin for just $10 (retailed at $80) and attend a half hour composting class taking place all day on Sunday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Collingswood Community Center - guests can stop in any time that is convenient for them.

Please join the Collingswood Shakespeare Company, Inc. in its inaugural Coffee and Shakespeare Discussion Series. The first series--It's Good to be the King!--focuses on four plays that explore the consequences of the usurpation of power and authority: Macbeth, Richard II, Richard III, and The Tempest. All discussions will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Peter Childs Meeting Room at the Collingswood Public Library, 771 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood. Refreshments will be served.

Grab your biggest buckets of popcorn! Collingswood Cinema Club will present the film Singing in the Rain on Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic, 1,000 seat Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood. The cinema club is a group of film lovers who enjoy watching classic films on the big screen. Each month through June will feature a different film.

"Enchanted Sleeping Beauty" is being performed by the Collingswood Youth Theatre, sponsored by the Borough of Collingswood, on Friday, April 25 and Saturday April 26 at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday April 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Theatre (315 White Horse Pike). Tickets are $6 and are available at the door. This show is being directed by Mrs. Patricia Benesch and Mrs. Annemarie Dunn, and has a cast of 68 students in grades three through six.

Collingswood will host a special waste collection on April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Collingswood public works complex (713 N. Atlantic Avenue). Clear the garage of old paint cans and fuels and help the earth by making sure it’s disposed of properly. There are separate recycling events for computers and electronics.
