Grant Avenue repaving project - Part I
Champion Ave to White Horse Pike (Rt 30)
Project Start Date: October 7, 2020
Anticipated Project Length: 4-6 weeks
Work will include:
- Select tree removal
- Trimming of dead tree branches.
- Select curb, sidewalk, and driveway aprons
- New ADA curb ramps
- New inlet structures, grates, and curb heads
- Select sump pump connection to the storm main
- Removal of the existing roadway surface
- Paving of the roadway with new blacktop
- Planting of new street trees
- Concrete crew will start on the even side of the street, near WHP, work towards Champion, then flip to the odd side
- Access to properties will generally be maintained for the duration of the project

Project Start Date: Fall 2021
Anticipated Project Length: 4-6 weeks

Safe Routes to School and Traffic Calming
Project Start Date: January 18, 2021
Anticipated Project Duration: 4 months
Project Locations:
Phase 1 - Maple Ave at Washington, Frazier, Lawnside, E. Stiles, and E. Homestead
Phase 1- Lincoln Ave at Cedar and Washington
Phase 1 - Atlantic Ave at Lees, Edison, Coolidge, Dill, Curtis, Cooper, and W. Homestead
Phase 2 - Dill Ave from Stokes Ave to Atlantic Ave
Phase 2 - Stokes Ave at Lees Ave and Lees Lane
Phase 2 - Lees Lane from Stokes Ave to Linwood Ave
Phase 3 - Haddon Ave at Homestead Ave
Work will include:
- New ADA Curb Ramps
- New Crosswalks
- Signage
- Intersection Bump Outs for traffic calming and pedestrian safety at Haddon/Homestead
- New Drainage pipe and inlets
- Decorative brick pavers
- Select Concrete Roadway Slab Replacement

The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant is a federal grant that promotes walking and bicycling to school through infrastructure improvements. Collingswood was awarded roughly $900,000 to make these improvements. Read more here.
