This year is the final year to apply for the Borough’s $150 property improvement rebate. Over the last three years, the Borough has given thousands back to taxpayers that have pledged to use the money to spruce up their homes.
“The program is an overwhelming success for Collingswood,” said Mayor Maley. We’ve been able to thank taxpayers this way and in return people invest in their homes, take pride and make Collingswood look even better.”
The PRIDE Grant program, announced September 2006 by Borough Commissioners, each year for four years, with the first checks received in 2007 – a total of $600 – to help with the cost of property improvements.
This year, PRIDE checks, typically sent in spring, will see some delay due to complications with State budgeting. Information on check disbursement will become available at Collingswood.com as timelines for PRIDE payments frame out for 2010.
To be eligible for the grant you must (1) be the legal owner of your property as of September 1, 2009; (2) be current in your taxes, water and sewer bills; and (3) agree to spend at least $150 to improve your property over the next five years. The program is designed to boost the pride and look of Collingswood by assisting owners in home and business repairs, maintenance and growth. Owners with property maintenance violations can be denied the grant.
The last step is to print out the application below and and mail it in or drop the completed form off at Borough Hall (678 Haddon Ave) - applications must be filled out yearly to claim the grant. With questions, call Borough Hall at 856-854-0720 x121.
