ABOUT COLLINGSWOOD 

The Borough of Collingswood features small town living at its’ best.  With a population of just under 14,000 the borough is situated within minutes of Philadelphia via the PATCO Speedline and close proximity to highways and bridge access.  This suburban gem boasts a lively main street filled with restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and hip shops along its main corridor Haddon Avenue, where the town hosts many special events, promotions, and activities for residents and visitors to enjoy. 

Collingswood’s success is due in part to the efforts of its’ engaged resident volunteers, the governing body and the Business Improvement District (BID) in engaging the community and attracting visitors.  The town holds many events throughout the year including holiday festivities, an award winning farmers market, cruise nights, May Fair, and an arts & craft festival just to name a few.

Collingswood also features a “Theater District”, home of the Collingswood Grand Ballroom and Scottish Rite Theater which hosts, weddings, special events, concerts & theater productions. These beautifully renovated facilities bring thousands of visitors to Collingswood each year and are also utilized by many community groups in town. 

The town focuses on being “green” too, supporting and promoting sustainability programs including special waste collection events, rain barrel workshops, backyard composting tips, renewable energy promotion and bike share & car share (Zip car) programs.   These programs all culminating each April where programs are widely featured at the annual Green Festival, where residents can enjoy and learn about the latest and greatest in small business and home sustainability practices and products.  

The town boasts over 100 acres of green space for residents to enjoy the outdoors with the centrally located Knight Park and two county parks Cooper River Park and Newton Lake Park.  There are playgrounds, walking and biking trails, event pavilions, kayak rentals and more to enjoy just a short distance from any home in Collingswood.
