Tree Lighting, Friday, November 21, 7 p.m.
Holiday Parade, Saturday, November 22, 10 a.m.
Parade of Lights, Saturday, December TBD, 7:30 p.m.
Continuing in tradition, fire trucks and floats strung in glittering lights will drive from Zane Ave. to Homestead Ave. (at the post office) for the Parade of Lights. Collingswood’s Fire Department and civic groups will come decorated and ready to represent their groups. Trucks will compete for top honors and prizes. Santa will follow on the last truck to greet children and spectators and send season’s greetings. Organizations that would like to be involved can call Keith Davis at 856-854-7447.
Holiday Shopping
Collingswood Partners, Inc. is again working to put together a beautiful shopping streetscape on the Avenue. Candlelite shopping will take place during extended shopping hours every Friday and Saturday in December. Haddon Ave. in Collingswood is decked out with an estimated 500,000 lights so visitors and residents can shop in a winter wonderland and find just the right gifts for underneath the tree. Festive carriage rides, at no charge, will carry shoppers looking for toys, clothes and other unique gifts. Glowing candles will line the feet of shoppers while carolers fill the air with holiday tunes.
Christmas Carolers
2nd Saturday - December 13
The festive lights will make for an extra special Second Saturday event. As always, the evening of art and entertainment will host artists, crafters and musicians at studios, galleries, coffee houses and retail shops. Experience demonstrations, performances and exhibits at several locations along Haddon Ave.
Collingswood’s holiday spirit is sure to get even the biggest grinch in the spirit with carols, food, ribbons, Santa and everything else that makes the season a time to share.
Only on 2nd Saturday, festive carriage rides will carry shoppers looking for toys, clothes and other unique gifts (at no charge). Carriage rides begin at Haddon Avenue and Powell Lane and will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
