Trenton: We're here to help!?

The Governor’s proposed budget has dropped a house on municipal operations all across the State.

The Governor proposes cutting $195,000 in State aid to the Borough. Programs such as Homeland Security have been completely eliminated. We are lobbying the Governor and State legislators to restore the funding. I’ve sent a letter to the Governor and to all legislators and will be testifying before the Assembly Budget Committee next week. Without restoration of this funding we will be forced to reduce services or substantially increase property taxes – neither of which are pleasant choices.

Of probably even more concern is this cut will mean the end of our shared police, court and rental inspections in Woodlynne. Woodlynne is being slashed much worse and will no longer be able to pay for our service. We started this program to provide better police protection and, in the long run, help our High School. This cut will end a shared service even though the cut is supposed to encourage the sharing of services. Contact the Governor and email our legislators to restore the funding and to work with towns on an orderly plan for sharing of services. Thanks.
