They're Invested
Last night I had the pleasure of stopping by the Santa Maria Knights of Columbus Hall in Haddon Township for their 38th annual Police Appreciation Night. Every year, the Knights treat policemen from neighboring towns for a dinner and camaraderie. It's a great recognition of our officers. During the night, they raised some money to help the Audubon family that recently lost their home in a horrific fire.
I had the chance we don't often get to sit with our officers and "catch up." Our town is fortunate to have a group of men and women who treat this work as much more than a job. Many of them live here in town and they want to continue to play a major role in improving our community. They are very focused and concerned that Collingswood and Woodlynne are able to continue the police relationship to not lose the ground we believe we have gained in the last year and a half. With all our town has seen change over recent years, the cornerstone remains keeping our neighborhoods safe. It was a great night to hear from them their "investment" in our community. It's more than a job.
I'd be remiss if I didn't give a tip of the hat to the Knights for taking the time to recognize the officers. It's a grand tradition. Thanks.
