31 Jul 2008 - 3:30pm

This summer there will be no place like the Collingswood Middle School as it transforms into the mystical Emerald City for four performances of “The Wizard of Oz”.  With a click of your heels you'll be swept away on a bewitching adventure to the Land of Oz. Follow Dorothy and her friends Toto, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion on their quest to find their heart's desire and a way back home.

Presented by the Collingswood Summer Theatre, sponsored by the Collingswood Schools, performances will be staged at the Collingswood Middle School Auditorium on July 29, 30 and 31 at 7:30 pm with a matinee on July 31 at 1:30 p.m.  Tickets are $6 and are available at the door.  For group sales, contact Marlene Bareiss at 856-854-8471.

The Collingswood Summer Theatre Workshop, currently in its 14th season, is for students in grades 3 through 8. Directed by Mrs. Barbara Lefkoe, Ms. Marlene Bareiss, and assisted by Mrs. Annemarie Dunn, approximately 65 students will work together every morning for a month to hone their craft. Adult volunteers will be busy sewing costumes and constructing sets. The result will be a lively performance filled with singing, dancing, fun and adventure.  So make a date to follow the Yellow Brick Road this summer to the air-conditioned Collingswood Middle School!
