Dog Days of Summer
You love your pooch; you feed them, groom them and care for them. Doesn’t it make sense that you give them a chance to party for the day? As the summer months start to drag on in August and you (and your most loyal of companions!) start looking for something to do, Collingswood is once again the place you want to be – with your dog.
Stop by on August 17 from noon to 3 p.m. on Powell Lane (off Haddon Ave at the LumberYard Shops) for the first Dog Days of Summer event. Visit vendor booths full of dog related products while Fido is showing off his best summer beach wear in the Pooch Parade. An afternoon of fun for you and your dog is guaranteed. Admission is free, but there is a $5 for the pooch parade and contest. Categories include most creative, most comical, best bonnet, most enthusiastic and best of show. A portion of the proceeds benefit animal causes.
There will be contests, prizes, giveaways and more. Making appearances at the Dog Days will be vendors specializing in the best doggie attire, accessories, treats, health and wellness, bowls, beds as well as representatives from veterinarians and shelters (if you want to find a new friend, get advice or volunteer). Stroll with your pet and meet some other friends. Guests can even get pet portraits, and owners can pick up doggie related clothing, home goods, accessories and more. Water and other services will be available.
It’s all gone to the dogs this summer in Collingswood! If you are a dog owner or just a dog lover do not miss the fun, and remember, all furry (or scaly) friends are welcome. For more details as well as information on leashing, parade registration and more call Rose at 856-858-9275.
