Party on Powell

A special - yet unplanned - guest has put a small change in the Party on Powell plans! That troublesome Hanna will be raining on our party as it comes up the coast Saturday, but all is not lost. The Party on Powell will still party on at the Collingswood Community Center (30 Collings Ave). Same time. Same date. Prizes, music, food and drink - regarless of the rain, because we wouldn't let a few drops spoil our soiree.

There are just a few tickets left if you haven't picked one up yet. Get one at Borough Hall (678 Haddon Ave), 1st Colonial National Bank (1040 Haddon Ave), Main Street Realty (730 Haddon Ave) and at the Farmers’ Market in Collingswood on Saturday morning. They are going fast.

If you haven't heard - Collingswood will continue to dance under the starlight to benefit charity this year at the Party on Powell on Sept. 6 from 7 to 11 p.m.

The event follows the tradition of the Gala on the Ave and the Barefoot Ball from previous years. Both events have raised thousands to benefit good causes in the Borough. The theme is American Bandstand - Powell Lane will be filled with music spanning four decades. Guests are encouraged to come dressed representing their favorite decade.

“The Party on Powell lets everyone in town enjoy a great evening, give back and welcome our newest neighbors to town. It’s a fun new twist on a Collingswood tradition,” said Mayor James Maley.

This year’s event - priced at $40 per person - will take place down Collingswood’s newest street, Powell Lane, by the LumberYard Condos. Tickets include an open wine and beer bar (a cash cocktail bar will also be available) and food. The event is being catered by every Collingswood restaurant. A silent and Chinese auction will raise money to benefit the Knight Park Pavilion Restoration Committee.

The music will be provided by Collingswood Pops Orchestra. The orchestra is in its inaugural year in the Borough and will add to the arts and entertainment offerings in town.
