Holiday Tree Lighting
The holidays in Collingswood kick off starting Friday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. when Santa descends from atop Borough Hall by way of the Collingswood Fire Department’s ladder truck – just in time for the Borough’s official Tree Lighting Ceremony. Choral groups will sing as the town tree is lit up with twinkling lights and season’s greetings are made by Mayor Jim Maley and Commissioners Joan Leonard and Mike Hall. The trees along Haddon and Collings Avenue business districts will glow with hundreds of thousands of lights. Storefronts will also sparkle with garland and lights set up in beautiful holiday displays.
Get your spots early the next morning, Sat., Nov. 28, for the 21st annual holiday parade, themed “Musical Notes and Holiday Floats.” The parade committee has worked for months organizing floats, special guests and sponsors to make the parade bigger and better than ever.
“Collingswood goes all out for the holidays,” said Mayor James Maley. “It’s a special time in town. You feel the togetherness of this community even more at this time of year.”
