Collingswood’s 7th All Town Musical for 2010 is Anything Goes! Starting in 2002 with The Music Man, Collingswood’s All-Town Musical has become a favorite of young and old alike. Acting families and audiences look forward to this full-scale production that showcases the spirit and talent of our unique town.  It’s a great way to meet neighbors and make new friends! This fall Collingswood Community Theatre will present Anything Goes and auditions will be held on Tuesday, June 15.

The age old tale of boy meets girl and the complications which ensue intrigue every audience, and no musical puts it on stage better than the shipboard musical, Anything Goes. The production is an amusing story wrapped around one of Cole Porter’s magical scores which features such Broadway standards as It’s De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, Anything Goes, You’re The Top and Blow, Gabriel, Blow. It’s a wonder that all the romances are sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where ANYTHING GOES! With lots of big production numbers and parts for people of all ages, it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Collingswood Community Theatre encourages participation by entire families and promises a fun time for all.  No prior experience is necessary. All cast members must be Collingswood residents. Children must be 8 years old to audition and any child under age 15 must have a family member or adult in the cast who will be responsible for them.  The show will be performed October 7 through 9, 15 and 16. Cast members must be available for all performances as well as dress rehearsals on October 4 and 5. Rehearsals will begin in mid-July through first week of August, then pick up again on a three-day a week basis in September.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, June 15 in the Community Center. Audition packets (which include registration forms, character descriptions, audition songs and all necessary information) will be available in the Community Center lobby beginning May 24. There is a $70 registration fee per person (capped at $140 per family).
