Yard Waste will be picked up by the Collingswood Department of Public Works through September 28, 2023. Beginning the week of October 2, 2023, yard waste will be collected by the trash company along with residents' trash on their specified trash pick-up day.
Residents can place their leaves, grass, clippings, sticks, twigs, and garden clippings in an open (no lid) receptacle or in paper bags brought to the curb, no plastic bags please. Dirt, rocks, sod, and dog waste will not be accepted in yard waste containers. Do not co-mingle yard waste with trash. All yard debris accumulated from contracted services must be removed by the company performing the service.
Branches should be cut to 4 inches in length and bundled with rope/twine. Logs should be cut in lengths of no more than 2 feet and stacked between the curb and sidewalk.
Residents may drop off yard waste at the Comly Avenue plant Monday to Friday between 7am and 3pm.
NOTE: For larger brush over 4 inches in diameter please call Public Works (856)-858-0533 to schedule collection.
Brush Collection:
October to March - Residents can dispose of brush two ways:
- Drop off at Comly Ave Water Plant Monday to Friday between 7am and 3pm. No plastic bags.
- Report to Public Works for collection via Resident Portal, publicworks@collingswood.com, or 856-858-0533. Brush must be tied up and bundled or placed in open containers.
Leaf Collection Schedule and Map:
The Borough's weekly leaf collection begins October 30, 2023, and continues through mid-December.
For excess leaves and collection residents are asked to help by following these guidelines:
• Leaves should be piled at the curb strip between the sidewalk and the curb; Borough crews will rake them into the street.
• No twigs, branches or any other material except grass are allowed in the leaf piles.
• Residents are asked to please have their cars off the street on their scheduled day.
The Borough follows a weekly schedule. If it rains on your collection day, we will make every effort to be back before your next scheduled day, however, because of the area we must cover and the volume of leaves we pick up, it is sometimes impossible to do.
The department divides the Borough into five different sections for its leaf collection route, outlined below:
